My work focuses on the sociology of sexuality. Focusing particularly on liminal identities including plurisexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, and non binary gender identities, I explore how people show/hide their sexual and gender identity based on the communities around them and the perceived levels of acceptance that they will come across. Using qualitative research, my research explores plurisexual conceptualisations of sexual identity, gender identity, and romantic relationships in a monosexist, homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic British society.
Listen to Rosie further discuss the details of their research and the meaning of secrecy for bisexual people here in SPIN’s featured podcast episode.
