Call for Papers: Special Issue on Pandemic Secrecy

SPIN would like to share an open call for papers on behalf of Secrecy and Society. 

Secrecy and Society, an open access peer-reviewed journal, invites submissions for Volume 3, Issue 2, exploring “pandemic secrecy” amidst the COVID-19 crisis, including secrecy’s relationship with:

 

  • accountability
  • agency (regulatory)
  • capture
  • censorship
  • conspiracy theories
  • disaster and risk communication
  • ethics
  • freedom of information
  • informed consent
  • intellectual and academic freedom
  • knowledge production
  • language and framing
  • patents
  • policies
  • political communication
  • record keeping, data collection, and official statistics
  • research and peer review
  • technology
  • theoretical aspects of pandemic secrecy

 

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary work from researchers and scholars outside the U.S. Pseudonyms are acceptable. Book reviews are also sought for this special issue.

Issue Published: December 31, 2024
